False Eyespot Sea Nettle [Chrysaora pseudoocellata]

False Eyespot Sea Nettle
Description

As its name suggests, this sea nettle can show eye-like markings on the bell, though they’re not true “eyes.” Divers may see it hovering in midwater or near the surface, with tentacles hanging down like fine threads. It’s a beautiful but potentially hazardous animal—maintain distance and watch your buoyancy to avoid drifting into its reach.
