Lion’s Mane [Cyanea nozakii]

Lion’s Mane
Description

Cyanea nozakii is a captivating jellyfish that divers may encounter as a large, delicate bell surrounded by long, ribbon-like tentacles. As it moves, the tentacles trail behind and fan out, creating a mesmerizing, almost hair-like effect. Because lion’s mane jellyfish can have stinging cells, divers should keep a safe distance and avoid contact.
