Lion’s Mane [Cyanea mjöbergi]
Description
Divers may spot this lion’s mane jellyfish as a large, translucent bell with long, trailing tentacles that can drift like underwater streamers. In calm water it often looks almost motionless, but a gentle current reveals how the tentacles sweep and catch passing plankton. It’s a striking sight—beautiful, but best admired from a respectful distance.
