Tomato Jellyfish [Crambione mastigophora]
Description
Divers may spot this jellyfish as a rounded, tomato-red to reddish-orange bell drifting slowly with the current. It often appears in calm, sheltered water where it can look almost like a floating “blob” before you notice its delicate trailing structures. With a careful approach, you’ll typically see it glide rather than actively swim.
