Catostylus purpurus [Catostylus purpurus]
Description
This jellyfish can be visually dramatic, with a bell that may show rich coloration as it turns with the light. Underwater, it moves by pulsing and drifting, creating a slow, graceful glide through the water. Divers sometimes spot it near rocky reefs or along coastal drop-offs, especially when conditions bring plankton closer to the surface.
