Solmaris quadrata [Solmaris quadrata]
Description
As its name suggests, divers may encounter this species in more defined, patch-like forms—sometimes with a slightly squared or blocky look—growing on hard bottoms. It tends to be most noticeable when you approach slowly and observe how it responds to passing currents. Like many small colonial invertebrates, it rewards close inspection rather than quick scanning.
