Solmaris lenticula [Solmaris lenticula]
Description
Divers may spot this species as a delicate, often translucent hydroid-like animal that clings to hard substrates such as rocks, pier pilings, or coral rubble. In the right light, it can look like a small, neatly arranged patch or “film” of living tissue, gently swaying with the current. It’s easy to overlook—until you slow down and watch closely.
