Xestospongia [Xestospongia]
Description
Xestospongia are large reef sponges that can dominate the seascape, forming tall, rounded shapes that look almost like underwater architecture. Divers often see them hosting small reef life and filtering water as they sit quietly in place, especially in clear, current-swept areas.
