Thelenota [Thelenota]
Description
Thelenota sea cucumbers are large, slow-moving echinoderms that divers commonly encounter on rocky reefs and seagrass-adjacent bottoms. At close range, their thick, pebbly skin and distinctive body shape are striking, and they may extend their feeding tentacles when the area is calm and food is available.
