Scarus [Scarus]

Description

Scarus parrotfishes are a familiar sight on many reefs, recognizable by their beak-like mouths and vibrant colors. Divers may watch them graze on algae-covered surfaces, scraping and nibbling as they move across coral heads and rocky patches. Their feeding helps keep algae in check, and their steady, purposeful swimming makes them easy to track underwater.
