Ptereleotris [Ptereleotris]

Ptereleotris are darting, streamlined fish that often hover near reef slopes and sandy bottoms. Divers may see them dart out from cover, then settle into a watchful position, making them feel like tiny, fast-moving sentinels of the reef.
