Moon Coral [Diploastrea]
Description
Moon Coral forms rounded, boulder-like colonies with a distinctive, “moon” or dome-shaped look. Divers often notice its thick, fleshy texture and subtle color variations, with small openings where polyps extend. In good light, the colony’s surface can look almost velvety as it catches the current.
