Description
Dinocardium, or giant cockles, are a genus of large, robust cockles characterized by their heavy and large shells with deep radial ribs. These bivalves are found buried in sandy or gravelly substrates in shallow to moderately deep waters. They are filter feeders, using their siphons to draw in water and extract plankton and detritus for nutrition.
