Feather-headed Worms [Eumida]

Description
Eumida is a genus of small to medium-sized polychaete worms known for their feather-like appendages. These appendages are actually highly modified parapodia, used for respiration and, in some species, for filter feeding. Eumida worms are versatile feeders, consuming detritus, algae, and small invertebrates. They are commonly found in a variety of marine habitats, from intertidal zones to deeper waters, often buried within sandy or muddy substrates.
