Feather Duster Worms [Bispira]

Feather Duster Worms
Description

Bispira is a genus of marine polychaete worms characterized by their long, feathery tentacles which they use for filter feeding. These worms live in tubes made from sediment and mucus, which they construct on coral reefs, rocky substrates, or within the sediment. The feathery tentacles are highly visible and often colorful, serving both as a feeding apparatus and a respiratory surface.
