Chlorurus [Chlorurus]
Description
Chlorurus parrotfishes often appear as bold, colorful reef grazers that patrol and crop algae from coral and rock. Divers may see them methodically scraping with their beak, sometimes producing a fine cloud of disturbed material as they feed. Because they’re active and reef-focused, they’re frequently spotted during dives along healthy, algae-managed reef zones.
