Callyspongia [Callyspongia]

Description

Callyspongia species are commonly seen as colorful, encrusting or mound-forming sponges that can cover parts of the reef like living patches. Underwater, they may appear velvety or slightly bumpy, and their vibrant hues stand out against rock and sand. Divers often find small crustaceans and other micro-creatures using the sponge’s texture for cover.
