Aplysina [Aplysina]
Description
Divers often spot Aplysina as sturdy, branching or finger-like sponges that cling to rocky walls and reef edges. Their surfaces can look softly textured and can range from pale yellow to deeper tones depending on species and conditions. In clear water, they’re easy to notice as stationary “reef furniture” that hosts small invertebrates and provides shelter for tiny reef life.
