Description

Tomopteridae are a family of planktonic polychaetes, distinguished by their transparent, gelatinous bodies and wing-like parapodia which enable them to swim in the open ocean. These worms are predators, feeding on smaller zooplankton. They are known for their elegant swimming movements and can be found in both shallow and deep marine waters.
