Sea Cucumbers [Holothuriidae]
Description
Holothuriidae sea cucumbers are soft-bodied reef scavengers that often rest on the seafloor or tuck into sheltered areas. Divers may see them slowly crawling along sand and rubble, feeding on organic particles. Some species can also respond to disturbance by changing posture or releasing defensive material—so it’s best to watch without touching.
