Aphroditids [Aphroditidae]

Description

Aphroditidae, also known as sea mice because of their furry appearance, are a family of polychaete worms found in many marine environments. These worms are characterized by their iridescent, often brightly colored setae (bristles) which can create a shimmering effect in water. They are scavengers or predators and have a dense mat of setae covering their dorsum, which can sometimes resemble a felt-like texture.
