Bivalves
Bivalvia
Description
Bivalves are shellfish with two hinged shells, and divers often spot them anchored in sand, mud, or attached to rocks and wrecks. Depending on the species, you might see them partially buried with siphons extended, or clustered in beds that create mini-habitats for small fish and invertebrates.
