Description
Sandy Bay provides a gentle introduction to Lake Baikal's underwater world, perfect for beginners and macro photographers. Its shallow, sandy bottom is alive with small invertebrates and fish, and keep an eye out for the charismatic nerpa, the world's only freshwater seal, often seen playing in these waters.

Temperatures dropping significantly, but still diveable with appropriate gear. Less plankton.

Water is very cold, ice formation begins. Limited diving opportunities.

Ice covers most of the lake, very challenging ice diving conditions.
