Bufumira's Hidden Caves
About this Dive Site
Description
Explore the mysterious underwater caves of Bufumira Island, a labyrinth of freshwater sponges and sheltered nooks. While freshwater sponges are present, the term 'coral gardens' is more commonly associated with marine environments. Due to the naturally lower visibility in Lake Victoria, a dive light is essential to fully appreciate the unique formations and the local aquatic life that calls these submerged caverns home.
