The Wreck of the Mars
About this Dive Site
Description
The Mars, a formidable 16th-century Swedish warship, lies in the depths of the Baltic Sea, a significant archaeological discovery. Sank in battle in 1564, this once mighty vessel, known as Makalös, was one of the largest of its time. Its recent discovery in 2011 has opened a window into the intense naval warfare of the era.
