Description

The Kaikoura Peninsula offers easily accessible shore diving amidst a thriving underwater ecosystem. Swim alongside playful fur seals and perhaps even spot a dusky dolphin, while exploring the vibrant kelp forests and rocky reefs teeming with colorful marine life.

Jan Good chance of seeing dolphins and seals.
Feb Dolphin and seal encounters continue.

Apr Visibility can be variable. Seal sightings are common.

Jun Winter diving, expect colder temperatures and potentially rougher seas.
Jul Coldest month. Whales are migrating offshore, but diving conditions are challenging.
Aug Still cold, but conditions may improve slightly towards the end of the month.
Sep Spring brings slightly warmer water and improved visibility. Seal pups may be seen.
Oct Good diving conditions with a chance of seeing fur seals.
Nov Excellent visibility and mild temperatures. Abundant marine life.
Dec Summer diving, warm temperatures and excellent visibility. Great for seal encounters.
