Description

The Sleeping Pool at Chinhoyi Caves is a breathtakingly clear freshwater dive site, formed within a limestone and dolomite landscape. This stunning blue pool offers a fascinating underwater vista, and while fossil remains are a possibility, the extreme depth mentioned is not representative of the accessible diving area.

Jan Rainy season, water levels can be higher, creating a unique atmosphere in the caves. Visibility generally good.
Feb Continued rainy season, stable conditions within the caves.
Mar End of rainy season, excellent clarity, ideal for exploring the crystal-clear waters of the Dark Cave and Wonder Hole.
Apr Peak visibility, the limestone formations are stunning in the clear water.

Jun Cooler water, but still very good visibility for exploring the cave systems.
Jul Coolest water temperatures, but excellent visibility for cave diving.
Aug Stable conditions, ideal for exploring the unique geological formations.
Sep Warming water, visibility remains good.
Oct Visibility starts to decrease slightly as the dry season progresses and potential for increased algae.
Nov Pre-rainy season, visibility can be reduced due to increased organic matter.
Dec Rainy season, visibility can be reduced, but the cave environment offers a unique experience regardless.
